Photo challenge 6

The following photos are taken by  Edouard Boubat:
I think this photo is powerful because of how close Boubat was to the child, making every detail more noticeable. The eyes are the focal point and are in the center of the page. There is a high contrast in the picture and it makes it more dramatic and mesmerizing.
I like this photo because it looked candid and captured the mans emotions. He looks concerned about something and the darkness of his eyes draw the viewers attention.
I like this photo because you can see the boys contentness with the shell. I like how the plain background makes the picture less distracting and the details.

I decided to lighten up the photo because it is supposed to be happy and have the idea of things looking up. That is what inspired the birds eye view shot for the picture.

This photo was a bit darker and dramatic to match the mood. She is leaning against the wall to allow the leading lines to lead right to her.
This photo has back lighting to make the picture a little more mysterious. I stood not too close or far from her, so it seemed more like her ordinary self.

The power of the portrait photographer

The photographers were led to believe that the guy they were photographing had a different background that wasn't true. Each photographer was led to believe something different about the guy.

They were led to believe this so they could show a different story through each picture.

Because of this, each photo looked completely different and made you think that they had a different identity.

The video makes a point that the story that is being told is chosen by the person behind the camera.

I agree with this point because it is up to the photographer to use their creative abilities to capture the subjects personality. They are influenced by their background and can use settings and emotion to enhance the photo.

Read and respond 9

I think this photo is powerful. The contrast of the lighting in the picture makes it more intense. The leading lines from the tunnel and the ladder draw the viewers eye directly to the plane. Taking this photo would take skill because there is only a short moment to get the prefect shot and that means you would have to have the photo in mind and the settings correct. Because of the skill this would take, and the composition of the photo, I think it did deserve to win. Not to mention how hard it would be to capture the picture since they would also need to hold onto the ladder.
