Photo composition gallery

Plain background-
By shooting this photo against a plain background, it focuses more on the dog and doesn't distract the viewer. It makes the photo more powerful also because of the side lighting and the contrast of the dark black lab and the light from the Windows.

Fill the frame-
By filling the frame and reducing the amount of empty space, it makes the photo more detailed and causes the viewer to look twice at what they are seeing. This also shows full depth of field and environmental lighting.

Clear focal point-
By focusing in closely on this one leaf thing, it makes a more dramatic effect because it guides the viewer and causes it to stand out. This picture also shows rule of thirds, environmental lighting, and shallow depth of field.

Birds eye view-
By using birds eye view, it shrinks the focal point and shows a different angle of what we see in everyday life. This makes the child look like they are on a lower level.

Put a human in your landscape-
By putting my brother in this picture of haystack rock ( in canon beach, Oregon), it makes the photo a lot more interesting and unique. It gives you an idea of the size of the rocks. This picture also shows a full depth of field and environmental lighting.

Backlighting-
By using backlighting in this picture, it makes everyone in the airport turn into a shilouette. It makes the picture have more contrast by focusing on the light which causes a more noticeable reflection. This also shows symmetry and framing.

Leading lines-
By using leading lines in this picture, it guides the viewers eyes to the subject of the photo because your eyes want to follow the line. This also shows side lighting and putting a human in the landscape.

Framing-
By taking advantage of the lighting, I used a door frame to frame the person in the photo. This emphasizes the subject of the picture and guides the viewers eyes. This photo also shows back lighting and plain background.

Shallow depth of field-
By using a shallow depth of feel, it makes the subject more in focus and causes the background to be less distracting. This picture also shows a clear focal point and environmental lighting.

Golden hour-
By taking advantage of the sunlight, I got these shilouette of some ducks swimming in a lake. This just overall gives a great effect to the pictures and makes them more interesting. This picture also show environmental lighting, back lighting, and parallelism.
